Willows Farm Village is an exciting day out near London for the whole family. Aside from having the chance to get up close to horses, pigs, ducks, wallabies and even reindeer, children will love the Guinea Pig village, Ferret Fun, sheep racing and fun fair rides. For under 5s there are bouncy haystacks, a giant construction sandpit and an under 5s indoor play centre, and for older children there is a maize maze, treehouse adventure, tractor rides, rubber duck racing, panning for gold and Frisbee golf. There is also a falconry centre, a chance to learn about growing traditional crops and vegetables, and much more. The Woolly Jumpers Coffee Shop serves drinks and pastries from 10 am to 5 pm, and lunches (baguettes, jacket potatoes, etc) from 11:30 am til 2:30 p.m., and also has a TV and internet access. There is a childrens menu at the Farmhouse Restaurant serving burgers, fries, jacket potatoes, nuggets, etc. for £ 4.50 including a drink. Note that the Farmhouse Restaurant is only open certain times of year, mainly during the school holidays, so come prepared with a packed lunch to eat in the picnic area. There is also a farm shop on site where you can buy farm-fresh produce, cheese, and meats.

Janis I look after the day-to-day running of ReallyKidFriendly.com, as well as some geeky stuff behind the scenes. Thanks to my two boisterous rascals (aged 4 and 5), I have become an expert in soft play areas, parks, energetic music classes, and where to get a stiff drink once the kids have gone to bed. Really – ask me anything!

This is a great day our for toddlers and small children, Zoe loved the ginea pig room and the merry go round as well as the indoor play area. Quite a bit of it is indoors so you could easily spend a couple of hours there on a wet day although there’s lots more outside too. They have various activities on during the day from animal handling to sheep shows and childrens shows! There are mini tractors for the small ones to ride on which are undercover. Will definitely be going back.

    Fantastic – Lots to do.

This place is deceptively huge! There are two inside areas, one has lots of small animals, which children can pet under supervision and there’s an enormous soft play area. Outside, there are horses, goats, a play area with swings and tractors in sandpits. You can go panning for gold and there are shows held throughout the day where children are introduced to falcons. The canteen didn’t offer much, but there are many picnic areas and an undercover area with patio heaters. Lots to do for children of all ages.
