Kids at Westfield Centre LondonPossibly the most family friendly shopping experience in London! Westfield has spacious, buggy friendly shopping malls, parent parking bays, stair-free access, baby changing and feeding facilities, quiet areas, kiddy cars for children over 1 yr to drive around the shops, and a play area for under 5s.

Parents can also enjoy some much needed me time at the Mummy Mornings at Ciao Baby Cucina on the Southern terrace on Mondays from 10:30 am – noon. As well as being a chance for mums, dads and carers to meet up, every Mummy Morning has a theme – for example, this summer there is a kids clothing fashion show, a pampering themed mummy morning, and a chance to sample lovely summer food.

Special activities for kids include storytelling at Foyles every Saturday morning at 11:30 am, facepainting at Butlers Chocolates cafe every weekend, summer activities run by the Little Gym, and a chance to meet some favourite TV characters like Peppa Pig.

Check the Westfield website for more details and a timetable.

Dont forget to join the Kids Club to receive child-related discounts, advance notice of family events and activities, a welcome goody bag and more…

Janis I look after the day-to-day running of ReallyKidFriendly.com, as well as some geeky stuff behind the scenes. Thanks to my two boisterous rascals (aged 4 and 5), I have become an expert in soft play areas, parks, energetic music classes, and where to get a stiff drink once the kids have gone to bed. Really – ask me anything!

    Five star facilities.

Not a regular here (wrong part of London) but it deserves a review for the most incredible baby facilities I have seen anywhere! The baby change area is spacious and clean as you might expect from a new place. But there are also fabulous little private rooms with comfortable furniture and soft lighting that are a pleasure to feed in.
The real prize goes for creating great toddler facilities too – soft play in the changing area to keep the toddler amused while you tackle the baby is a great touch, as well as family toilets (one for adults one for toddlers side by side) which was a big hit. Food choice is staggering. As well as the usual family friendly suspects there were lots of unusual but kid friendly things to try in the food court (choose what goes into your own burrito, bite size lebanese goodies etc…) So if its a shopping trip with the kids, this place is highly recommended!

I find Westfield really well-designed for toddlers and babies. The changing facilities are amazing – nursing rooms make it easy to feed your little one if you don’t like being out in public. There are also little areas with couches and comfy chairs throughout the mall, which I use frequently if my 15-month-old needs to get out of the pushchair and run around a bit. There’s also a soft play area within the aisle with all the kids’ stores, also good for letting off steam. Everything gets a bit insane at weekends, but if you can manage it, weekday mornings are very serene.

It maybe child friendly, but we didn’t find it adult friendly..more the opposite! Full of the most shallow people we have ever witnessed…
