Seven Stories is the first museum in the UK wholly dedicated to the art of British childrens books. Their changing programme of exhibitions is designed to spark the imaginations of children and adults, and inspire exciting new work. Recognised as a national home for childrens, literature, Seven Stories brings together original manuscripts and illustrations from some of the nations best loved childrens books, to involve visitors in a unique exploration of creativity, literature and art. They offer a number of exciting activities throughout the year, including dressing-up and dramatic fun, creative writing and wordplay, illustration and craft activities. Our specially trained CAST members lead daily storytelling sessions, plus under fives and their families can enjoy Storyparty and Bookworm Babies during term time.

Their exclusive author and illustrator events are an opportunity for you to meet an author or illustrator, explore how they work to create their books and listen as they talk you through their inspiration, ideas and favourite stories. They also have one of the largest independent, specialist childrens bookshops in Britain, with over 50,000 titles and knowledgeable, enthusiastic staff. There is also a childrens book themed cafe serving home-cooked food.

About the Author:

Janis I look after the day-to-day running of ReallyKidFriendly.com, as well as some geeky stuff behind the scenes. Thanks to my two boisterous rascals (aged 4 and 5), I have become an expert in soft play areas, parks, energetic music classes, and where to get a stiff drink once the kids have gone to bed. Really – ask me anything!
