Music with Jeremy at Priory Park : Music for Under 5s

Parents in North London will love these wonderfully engaging and energetic music sessions for toddlers and young children led by singer, songwriter and guitar player extraordinaire Jeremy from The Hallelujah Trails. Jeremy really captivates the kids (and mums) with his enthusiastic guitar-based renditions of a range of fun childrens songs, and keeps them going with handstands, bubble blowing, stretches, and general silliness. A great start to the day for parents too – he likes to throw in a few Beatles, Johnny Cash and Simon & Garfunkel songs for the adults to sing along to, in the guise of musical education for the kids.

Normally held weekdays (currently Weds & Fri) from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at the cafe in Priory Park. The music sessions are held outside in the Philosophers Garden in nice weather, so come prepared with sunhats and picnic blankets in the summer.

Drop-in. £4 per child, £2.50 for siblings.

Location: Priory Park Cafe, London N8 8LL. The cafe serves yummy meals (including some lovely vegetarian options), snacks, pastries, cakes, hot drinks and children’s meals. Open 7 days a week from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. (open later in summer).

  1. A genuinely great sing along for kids and parents

My wife has often taken the kids to Jeremy’s music sessions, but this was my first outing with my toddler, and I approached it with some scepticism fearing a half hearted nursery rhymes session provided by a low skilled but achingly enthusiastic children’s entertainer. I got it completely wrong – it was superb ! This guy is clearly an accomplished musician and delivers a great blend of live music with a wide variety of songs for the kids, plus the occasional classic for parents to sing along to. He has a great humour and manner about him, engaging with the children, not talking down, and managing the odd melt-down in a room full of kids brilliantly. The whole session has a really fun and postive vibe and Jeremy exudes a quiet state-side style and coolness…which thinking about it, may be why my wife is always so keen to go and hang out at his sessions! Highly recommended.

  2. A fabulous drop in music that has real energy and joy to it. Jeremy captivated the kids with songs and great moves. He also plays songs for the grown ups too so you can sing too and it then feels much more fun than simply a kids music class. It’s held outside on sunny days so go and make your soul feel glad.

  3. Have to agree about Jeremy being a class act and great fun for kids and parents- I have been going with my daughter Beth for nearly 2 years now. Don’t want to be too positive as it will get too busy! Am lucky as a dad to work a four day week so get to do lovely things with Beth on a Monday – nearly always kicking off with Jeremy in Priory Park cafe. Fun Yums is very nice cafe but unfortunately the toilets are diabolical- not sure if the council or the cafe run them but whoever it is SORT THEM OUT! Priory Park is an absolute delight and thick with buggies and small kids and the piddling pool is great but the loos have no changing faclities, and completely ming. None of this is Jeremy’s fault however. Only one thing Jeremy – Google some second verses!

  4. i’ve been going to see Jeremy for over 2 years at the pavillion cafe in Dunsford park with my daughter and it has always been an absolute treat. His enthusiasm, skill at managing a group of toddlers (and parents desperate to chat about their offsprings and general mummy/daddy lives :-), his ability to engage both audiences, to keep it fun and to get people to participate is remarkable, I would highly recommend you go and see that great man ! you’re in for a treat and your kids will want to come back again and again and again. The cafe and the playground nearby will finish off a great morning out for both you and your little ones.

  5. Hey would you mind letting me know which webhost you’re utilizing? I’ve loaded your blog in 3 different internet browsers
and I must say this blog loads a lot faster then most.

Can you suggest a good web hosting provider at a honest price?
    Thanks, I appreciate it!
