The box office was very hard to get through to and I ended up booking my tickets online which was straight forward. The theatre was easily accessed by bus from East Finchley (parking limited). There is a ramp for accessing the venue with buggies and you then have to leave the buggy in the foyer except to take valuables into the theatre. I went with my toddler and baby-I checked about taking the baby beforehand and they said it was fine except that if she cried I should be prepared to take her out of the theatre. I had to try many different extensions in order to speak to someone about this.
The show (Handa’s Hen) lasted 35 minutes which I thought was a good amount of time for small children. My toddler was absorbed for the whole show and really enjoyed it as did I. There was a lovely atmosphere and a limited number of children were allowed to sit directly around the stage. Only problem was that toddlers being toddlers my daughter did not want to sit completely still the whole time and the odd time her feet ventured onto the stage I was told I had to remove her.
There is a nice cafe and seating area outside the theatre where children can run around a bit. I felt that £6.95 was a bit excessive for a 2 year old but nevertheless would definitely go back.

We went to see Handa’s Hen 28th Nov, and it was fun. A good introduction to theatre for kids. We all sat around the stage and got to touch the puppets. The two black actresses are very good, using different puppet animals and insects to perform with numbers. My two years old had lots of fun. My friend who brought her tiny a few months old baby came too – the baby did cry a little bit but wasn’t a problem (even though they said on the phone that you will have to leave the theatre if the baby cries).
