The children’s area of this library is beautifully laid out with a comfy rug, bean box cushions, low seating and computers and tables to work at. The books are on three different sets of shelving. Low-level boxes are used for baby and toddler books. Children’s fiction is laid out on forward facing, multi-level shelves, enabling children to “choose a book by its cover”. Then non-fiction and young adult books are on more traditional shelves. Staff welcome classes into the library to use the library for research or story-telling sessions and are always willing to help.

About the Author:

Janis I look after the day-to-day running of ReallyKidFriendly.com, as well as some geeky stuff behind the scenes. Thanks to my two boisterous rascals (aged 4 and 5), I have become an expert in soft play areas, parks, energetic music classes, and where to get a stiff drink once the kids have gone to bed. Really – ask me anything!
