woods on hampstead heath
Highgate Road
London NW3 7JR

Londons largest ancient parkland, covering 790 acres, the Heath is perfect for a day out with the kids. There are wooded areas, grassy open spaces, ponds, and lovely walking trails. Of particular interest for parents of young children are the Peggy Jay Centre (1 oclock club) , the child friendly cafeteria, playgrounds, lido and paddling pool. There is even a special toddlers playground where no animals or older children are allowed, so parents can relax a little! New mums will also love the Pushy Mothers outdoor postnatal fitness classes (with baby) which normally run on Fridays at 1:30 from Parliament Hill. There are various pay & display parking areas scattered around the perimeter.
