Cannock library have a beautiful children’s area which my two adore. The majority of the children’s books are situation in wooden storage shelves shaped as a car so, of course, as soon as they have chosen books they start “driving”. Also the books are at toddler level and easily flicked through.

Every two weeks, they hold a Baby Bounce and Rhyme session used to encourage babies and parents to socialise and begin to look at books together – you can never start too young! Staff are friendly and don’t mind if the children get over-excited around the books and will take time out to help them choose books, too.

About the Author:

Janis I look after the day-to-day running of ReallyKidFriendly.com, as well as some geeky stuff behind the scenes. Thanks to my two boisterous rascals (aged 4 and 5), I have become an expert in soft play areas, parks, energetic music classes, and where to get a stiff drink once the kids have gone to bed. Really – ask me anything!
