3D Films and Mother-and-Baby Screenings this Autumn at BFI IMAX
This Autumn, why not take the whole family to the IMAX on the South Bank and enjoy seeing the biggest films on the biggest screen in Britain. The newly refurbished auditorium has super plush comfy seats, a screen 20 metres high and 26 metres wide (that really is quite big), and 11,600-watt digital surround-sound. There are often family viewings and 3D films the children are sure to enjoy, and parents with babies and young children can try something different on a rainy day and enjoy some brilliant parent-and-baby and parent-and-toddler screenings for only £2. There is a dedicated parent's room, and it's all very buggy friendly and wheelchair accessible. Here's a snapshot of what's on this October:
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 3D(U) - The most delicious event since macaroni met cheese, in stunning IMAX 3D.
Up 3D (U) - The latest Disney-Pixar masterpiece - enough said!
Dinosaurs 3D: Giants of Patagonia(PG) - Come face-to-face with the largest creatures ever to have walked the Earth in jaw-dropping IMAX 3D.
Under the Sea 3D (U) - The brand new IMAX 3D adventure transporting you to some of the most exotic undersea locations on Earth
The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (U) - An epic tale of SpongeBob's quest to save the reputation of his boss.
Check out these special Hallowe'en screenings too:
Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit - In their first feature film, Wallace and Gromit hunt down a huge, hungry creature helping itself to all the fresh produce it can eat in the run up to the annual Giant Vegetable Competition. They also find themselves up against snooty Victor Quartermaine, who tends to address problems with his gun rather than his head. It's packed full of inventions, rabbits and, of course, cheese, and we salute Wallace and Gromit as they approach their 20th birthday next month. The Parent & Toddler screening is on Tuesday 13th October at 11 a.m.
Monster House - If you're going to play basketball on your front lawn then you'd better hope it doesn't land in the garden of the spooky house over the street. Some say that it might be haunted. Some say that the house itself might just be alive. Our Hallowe'en screening is suitable for families - just don't be surprised if some of the audience are hiding behind, rather than sitting on their seats.
